Points to ponder while submitting site in DMOZ

This passage is regarding submitting your websites to the DMOZ Webmaster. Many people do consider that the editors play a vital role in reviewing the submitted sites. And confusions begin when these editors disagree among themselves. Some people even think of bribing the first level editors to get their sites listed. But I should suggest you not to bribe any editor. Instead, make sure you submit to the proper category and do not re-submit, just keep on working to improve your web site for your visitors, don't put many ads on it and make sure all your content is original.

One DMOZ editor himself said once it is impossible to get listed within 24 hours. There is a special environment where all suggestions are checked by both editors and automated tools. The tools give recommendations and the editors can accept or overrule these recommendations. This checking makes it possible to filter the easy to spot spam. Further, you have to take care to see that your website is designed for the visitors and not for you, the owners. Your website must have a fast loading time with absolutely zero spelling mistakes. And a uniqueness of your website increases its probability of getting selected. DMOZ editors don’t care about your site Page rank and traffic, so you don’t have to pick higher Page rank sub categories to submit. Just remember my points before you try re- submitting the next time and do not forget to visit http://www.manhattanservice.com/network/2007/07/05/the-most-important-things-submitting-in-dmoz/ once.
