Fishing in online terminology used to refer to illegal accessing of bank accounts and credit cards. In fishing, you will get a spam mail asking you to your check your balance, then you will click the link in the mail which takes you to a site that is alike your banks original site.


Then your userid and password will be known to hackers and they happily withdraw amount from your bank accounts. Hence you should be careful with online banking. You should not click any links that lead you to bank account. You should type it exclusively in your address bar. Open the site with https instead of http. When ever you get a mail asking you to check your funds or something like that, inform immediately to your bank.
